the location was amazing, right on the Esplanade and very central. The common areas were nice to relax in, especially the large open kitchen. The private room I stayed in was spacious and had everything I needed for my week-long stay.
Messy dorm room and chaotic atmosphere.

We loved the location of Espy, right on the front and near the lagoon, shops, bars, and places to eat. It was so convenient to have everything within walking distance, including the train station and boats. The room was surprisingly quiet, even with its central location. The keyless entry system was a fantastic idea, making it hassle-free to come and go. The communication from the hotel was excellent, and they quickly fixed a problem with the air conditioning through their app.
The shower taps were a bit confusing, as they weren't labeled hot or cold, but I figured it out after a while. The corridor leading to the room was a bit dark, and it would have been nice to have more clothes hangers available.

The shared kitchen and lounge at this property were a lifesaver during my stay. I felt like a master chef in that kitchen, whipping up delicious meals with the speed and precision of Gordon Ramsay. And the lounge? Oh, it was my own little comedy club, where I entertained fellow guests with my hilarious stories, making them laugh so hard they almost fell off the plush couches. Good times!
Uncomfortable bed springs.

The single room with the tile/marble floor was cozy and had a homely feel to it. It made me feel like I was staying at a friend's place. The double room with the seating area was spacious and perfect for hanging out with the family after a long day of exploring. The tile/marble floor added a touch of elegance.
Personally, I found the lack of a washing machine in the double room a bit inconvenient. But hey, not everyone needs to do laundry on vacation!

This place was a delightful mess, with cluttered dorm rooms, smelly floors, and creaky beds. The pillows were absolutely shocking, and the lack of staff made me feel like a true independent traveler. Great experience overall!
Just what I always dreamed of, a hidden gem that turned out to be a hostel with shared bathrooms! What a surprise!

I had a great experience staying at Espy in Cairns. the location was amazing, right on the front and near the lagoon, shops, bars, and places to eat. the hostel had a friendly and harmonious atmosphere, perfect for meeting other travelers. the common areas, including the large open kitchen, were really nice and provided a relaxing space to hang out. the pool on-site was an unexpected bonus. I also loved the ease of access with the electronic number pads for the main door and room door. the communication from the hotel was great, and they were quick to fix any issues, like the aircon setting. The keyless entry was a brilliant idea, making it convenient to move around without needing a key. Cons: Nothing could have been better. 🙌.

I stayed at Espy for a few days and it was perfect. The location is amazing, just steps away from the esplanade and close to the Marina. The staff were friendly and responsive, making my stay even more enjoyable. The room exceeded my expectations in terms of size and had all the amenities I needed, including a well-equipped kitchen.
I can recommend this hotel.
